A variety of live music, savory summertime food, ice cold beverages, extraordinary art vendors, exciting kid-friendly activities, a seriously worthy cause, and the warm, alluring breeze from the Chesapeake Bay in the air, what could be better?


You're invited to the first annual BANDS BY THE BAY at Kurtz's Beach on Sunday, August 14 from 1-5pm. Bands By The Bay will raise funds for Downs Park's new amphitheater. The amphitheater serves as the scene for the Bayside Summer Concert Series at Downs Park, an annual set of musical performances every Sunday in June and September. In the park's current amphitheater, performers aren’t afforded cover from the sun, and the lighting is poor. A new structure will cost the park $150,000. The Friends of Downs Park wants to build a modern structure that can host a variety of events, such as movie nights.

Bands By The Bay will feature:

FAQs


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking is completely free and will be available on the Kurtz's Beach property.

What time do gates open?

Gates will open at 12:30pm. Enjoy food and beverages before bands begin at 1pm!

What does my ticket include?

Each ticket includes entrance to the festival. Food and drink are available at a separate cost.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Please, no outside food or drink. And as much as we love pets, please leave them at home.

Can I bring the kids?

Of course! This is a family friendly event. Kids 10 and under are free. Ages 11-18 are just $15.
